FrottageHeading

Frottage is a surrealist method, developed by Max Ernst and employs the use of charcoal or graphite to develop impressions of surfaces. I particularly like producing this type of work because it is spontaneous, opens the subconscious and the results are unplanned and unexpected. These particular images were part of a series of frottage work that I submitted in a sketchbook for "The Sketchbook Project 2013". My sketchbook is now at the Brooklyn Art Museum.
